We Take Care of Our Surroundings

COLLAGE operates with a GREENLIFE – Live with Interest and Focus on Environment – approach to design and construction. We are dedicated to expanding green facilities to communities across the nation, projects which not only fully satisfy our clients’ needs, but also improve their communities. Our drive to structure our business to benefit the greatest number of people possible has earned us a spot among the leaders in our field.

COLLAGE addresses the complex issues that challenge our environment with maximum efficiency. We comply with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency authorized the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to implement the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System storm water permitting program in the State of Florida. All jobsites have on hand required permits, NPDES plans and many other environmental impact controls.

In line with our commitment to environmental protection, we were honored to support Friends of Lake Apopka (FOLA) – a citizen advocacy group focused on restoring Lake Apopka to its once pristine condition. In Partnership with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, FOLA hosted Hooked on Lake Apopka Fish Tag Challenge at Lake Apopka from January through May (2021). “Collage takes seriously our commitment of good stewardship of the environments in which we live and work. We are proud to support FOLA in its ongoing effort to preserve this cherished natural resource. We hope to see you on the lake.” Rob Maphis, President, The Collage Companies

We value our environment in so many ways, and as LEED™ accredited professionals we share USGBC’s commitment to transforming how buildings are designed, constructed and operated to create a more sustainable world.   We have corporate and individual experience with achieving the highest levels of green building project certifications.  Collage has multiple LEED™ Accredited Professionals on staff, providing the credentials and experience to support our client’s sustainability objectives. The U.S. Green Building Council awarded LEED certification to the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) in Sanford, Florida. The FDOT RTMC project achieved certification under the LEED 2009 New Construction and Major Renovations rating system. LEED, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the leading program for green buildings and communities worldwide. The U.S. Green Building Council identified “FDOT RTMC Sanford” as a showcase example of sustainability demonstrating leadership in transforming the building industry.

We were also very proud of the project team responsible for the Seacoast Bank Building, located at 250 North Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando, (formerly First Green Bank) when they were  awarded the USGBC’s Innovative Project Award for Central Florida. The award recognized all members of the project team including:  The Collage Companies, FCM Engineering, Little Diversified Architectural Consulting and TLC Engineering Solutions. When the 250 North Orange Avenue project was completed in 2018 it was celebrated as the first LEED v4 ID&C Retail Platinum project certification in the worldRob Maphis, President of The Collage Companies says of the significance of LEED in the construction industry today, “LEED v4 is designed to up the ante with a more flexible, performance-based approach that calls for measurable results throughout a building’s life cycle. It also allows for a more streamlined user experience and more goal-oriented credits.” The project implemented practical and measurable strategies and solutions aimed at achieving high performance in the areas of water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. The team also focused on innovation in design and, the new component for LEEDv4, location and transportation.
