Celebrating the First LEED v4 ID&C Retail Platinum Project Certification

September 6, 2018 – Local business leaders, entrepreneurs and other change-agents gathered for the Central Florida for Good Event sponsored by The Collage Companies – Celebrating the first LEED v4 ID&C Retail Platinum project certification in the world!

LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. LEED certification is offered through the US Green Building Council – an inclusive and diverse family of green builders from across the globe.  LEED v4 is designed to up the ante with a more flexible, performance-based approach that calls for measurable results throughout a building’s life cycle. It also allows for a more streamlined user experience and more goal-oriented credits.

The event highlighted this important milestone and discussion the importance of proficiency in today’s sustainable design, construction and operations standards. This was followed by “What is a B Corp?” A discussion about easy-to-integrate ways for businesses to become more appealing to today’s generation of conscious consumers. Featured speakers included: Ken LaRoe, Founder and Chairman of First Green Bank, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Clayton Ferrara, Executive Director of Ideas for Us, Dr Sheila Rochefort-Hoehn, Co-Founder & President Zen Life Center and Jared Myers, Co-founder, Florida for Good.  The event also explored personal journeys from top executives building businesses structured to do more than maximize profits.
