The Collage Companies

Universities and Colleges across the country are joining the trend to create unique and inviting spaces for their students to study and relax during their hectic school schedules. Rollins College, a renowned liberal arts college and the oldest in the State of Florida, hired The Collage Companies to renovate the first floor (approximately 12,500 SF) of their existing library into a new casual study center open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Olin Library renovations included a complete reconstruction of the existing space during the 2 ½ month summer break. Renovations included floors and ceilings and everything in between! The work also included the replacement of the existing chiller and a brand new HVAC system, electrical upgrades, internet and communications upgrades. In addition to the standard improvements, the renovations included a high-end “period” millwork package to match the overall décor of the traditional Spanish building. The jewel in this space was the construction of a new café (yes you are now permitted to bring food into the library!) that seats dozens of students in a casual and comfortable environment similar to the nationally recognized coffee shops. The work was completed on time and within budget and has been well received by the staff and students at Rollins College.
