Brian Walsh selected as judge for National DBIA Student Competition

President, Brian Walsh was selected to serve on the panel of judges for the 2013 National DBIA Student Competition. The competition is designed to mirror best practices in actual design-build project delivery for students in some of the best colleges and universities around the country with Architectural and Construction Management undergraduate and graduate programs. The competition was a two-phased process. Phase 1 includes the issuance of a general “program” statement” (RFQ) that requires teams of students from DBIAʼs regional chapters across the country to provide a broad, all-encompassing, design build solution to meet the qualifications needed to accomplish the owner’s program objectives . The jury “shortlisted” three teams as the finalists. In Phase 2 these three finalists presented the projects in front of the jury, and live audience for the grand prize during the 2013 Design-Build Conference that was held in Las Vegas, NV. Forty teams of students from 29 universities across the country entered the 2013 National Design-Build Student Competition and a jury comprised of industry veterans selected nine regional winners. Ultimately, the First Place winner of the student contest was from California State University – Sacramento
